As you may remember, professional social network LinkedIn added a follow button for companies, which allowed users to follow a company on the network, and receive real-time alerts from its profile in their news and activity stream. LinkedIn is taking this a step further today with the launch of an embeddable button that companies can add to their websites.

Now, LinkedIn users will see ‘follow Company’ buttons on company sites, as well as on LinkedIn itself. Similar to Facebook’s Like button, as long as you are logged into LinkedIn, you can follow a company automatically by clicking the button. If you are not logged on, a box will appear asking for your LinkedIn credentials.

As mentioned above, following a company will allow you to keep track of company updates, such as job openings, new developments and more via your status update stream. LinkedIn says a number of companies are planning…

YEAN serves as one of the supporting organizations for China Entrepreneurs’ line of events this year and I attended a China Entrepreneurs event recently, together with Raymond and Tian Chang.

The session was a panel discussion about the Hot Sectors of 2012, and the speakers highlighted some of these key sectors of 2012.

Credits to ( Cleantech sector: Droughts, floods, cleaning up of pollution(the evidence is in your face whenever you walk out to the Beijing air), all these require technology to support the clean-up of a rapidly developing “World Factory”. The textiles industry in China creating massive pollution was hugely publicised by Greenpeace with their 1 year long investigation, and water treatment is needed for this. There was also news of plans for increased installations of solar panels in China this year.

2. Technology TMT: There are various industries involved in this broad sector, and these are some key…

Libdrone's Thoughts and Musings

I am convinced that some users simply fail to appreciate that they are most always dealing with other real people on the other sides of their computer screens.   Surely,  I think to myself,  folks would never be this dishonest and petty if they were not convinced that cheating somehow doesn’t count when you do it online for play money.    It was an ugly situation in the #SocialEmpire group.

A long time Empire Avenue  player who runs a charitable organization was complaining that he had created  a very high value mission offering 50,000 eaves to folks who donated $25 to his charity.   He gave away a lot of play money and only three folks made the reciprocal donation to his charity.  A member of the Empire Avenue staff popped in and mentioned that they can help in this sort of situation.   Several folks pointed out that all…

Digital Brand Marketing Education & Interactives

Facebook plans to release a new ad platform on February 29th that may profoundly change the way business is done on this social media network. Peter Corbett of iStrategyLabs, a social media marketing firm, recently said the following,

“The company expects the new ads to perform 40 to 8o percent better than its previous product”

That is a serious and significant increase in ad performance. Peter also posted a helpful PDF and Slideshow that seem to have come from Facebook that introduces the new ad platform.

Facebook Premium Ads Overview

Facebook Premium Ad Guide

Expected to be released at the fMC Marketing Conference, both documents reveal that Facebook’s plans to provide advertisers the opportunity to take any type of content and turn it into an ad. The new system will replace many of the classic premium options as well.

Libdrone's Thoughts and Musings

My friends who have come to know me almost certainly will not be surprised that this article really doesn’t tell you how to to what the title suggests.   My experienced blogger buddies of course will recognize the title  as a clever come on.   And my real friends on Twitter will be either amused or enlightened by what I want to share with you today.  (If they’re annoyed and #unfollow me,  they were never my friends.  No great loss.)

The other day when I visited my friend Hajra’s guest post  I couldn’t help but notice that it was on a blog that I would call too slick for it’s own good.    While it is not true that every blog out there that has the latest hot theme,  all the latest widgets and a slick design that screams  ME TOO! is filled with crappy writing that is not worth…
